SmartPlug is the Senior Design Project from SUNY ECE Students Daniel Putterman and Alex Alderman, advised by Dr. Baback Izadi. Dr. Nitya Narasimhan served as their industry advisor.

The focus of SmartPlug is to bridge the Sharing Economy and the Internet Of Things by allowing home-owners to monetize micro-usage of electrical appliances and devices in their homes.

It can also be used by families to track, understand or manage their electrical usage in the home.
